In the last couple of years Ibiza has seen boosting boat parties all over the island, we’ve seen many holiday-makers get wild while cruising the coast of Ibiza and Formentera. But while these kind of parties might not be everyone cup of tea, nobody can deny the utterly charming and spectacular atmosphere of tying the knot in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean!

There is something so undeniably romantic about getting married on board of a sailing boat, catamaran or luxurious yacht. Imagine say ‘I Do’ with the sparkling Mediterranean sea as your witness, the beautiful coastline of Ibiza as your backdrop for the whole reception and, as night falls, watch the sunset with your family and friends. One of the plus sides of celebrating on a ship, is that during those hot, summer days, we are pretty sure that some of your guests will be happy to have a quick dip in between cocktails!

You should get on with the planning process by investigating the cost and the legal requirements of a wedding on board. If you browse online it will not take a long time to run into websites of several Yacht/Charter companies, but bear in mind that many of these companies do not provide full-service weddings. So make sure to understand what is included in the wedding package and the limitation, in terms of guests capacity, for each type of boat – speedboat, catamaran, vintage vessel etc. Make sure to hire a reliable company, as you will have to pay in advance there is no way back if something goes wrong.

A good option to make your life easier is to seek help from the knowledgeable wedding experts of Ibiza. Most of the catering companies already offer full-wedding packages – covering from hiring the boat to providing drinks and food on board. Otherwise you can seek help from the experienced wedding planners. They will provide you a shortlist of the most suitable yachts, catamarans or sailboats, according to your style and budget, as well as dealing with all the requested permissions and the suppliers, leaving you just the fun part of organising your glamorous nautical affair!
